President Donald Trump’s border Czar and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director, Tom Homan, has confirmed that a recent leak of an ICE operation appears to have originated from within the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
He also announced that a criminal investigation into the matter is currently underway.
The leaked information pertained to an upcoming ICE operation in Los Angeles targeting members of the transnational criminal gang Tren de Aragua.
Media reports about the impending operation compromised its effectiveness and potentially endangered the safety of the agents involved.

Homan expressed his concerns during an appearance on “Hannity,” stating that the Department of Justice has initiated a criminal investigation into the leak. He emphasized the severity of the situation, noting that the individual responsible for the leak would “lose their job, their pension, and go to jail.”
“We’re going to keep coming. They’re not going to stop us,” Homan said, underscoring the commitment to eradicating criminal elements, particularly the Tren de Aragua gang, from the country.
Addressing operational security, Homan mentioned, “I’m addressing opsecs today – operation security, how these leaks are happening.”
He indicated that steps are being taken to identify and prevent future leaks.
Homan also highlighted the administration’s intent to empower ICE agents, stating, “We’re going to take the handcuffs off ICE that they’ve had put on by the [Biden] Administration. Let them go do their job.”
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem also criticized the FBI over the leaked information, referring to the agency as “corrupt” and suggesting that “deep state agents” were undermining federal immigration enforcement efforts.
