Dr. Anthony Fauci conceded that certain COVID-19 protocols, including masking children and social distancing, lacked robust scientific backing.
Republicans released the full transcript of their interview with Fauci just days before his public testimony on Monday.
Fauci admitted that his COVID restrictions, which were implemented worldwide, failed to “slow the spread” of the virus.
In his words, Fauci said the “6 feet apart” social distancing guideline was not grounded in data but rather “sort of just appeared.”
The Daily Mail reported on the avalanche of social media users, highlighting that this guideline wielded considerable influence, causing school closures and the obliteration of small businesses.

Robby Starbuck weighed in on the bombshell testimony from Fauci on X.
“People were banned from holding their loved ones as they died, banned from visiting sick family, banned from stores if they refused a mask, arrested for taking their kids outside, and both people & businesses died because of this tyrant,” he said.
“Justice starts with Fauci in a jail cell,” he added.
Fauci also faced criticism for advocating strict adherence to distancing measures while the George Floyd protests and subsequent riots were allowed to unfold.
Other social media users also pointed out that the debate surrounding COVID-19 measures included masking children.
Throughout the pandemic, Americans were enforced with penalties for non-compliance with mask requirements. However, these mandates may have been implemented without robust scientific backing.
“Do you recall reviewing any studies or data supporting masking for children?” the majority counsel pressed Fauci, per the transcript.
“You know, I might have …” Fauci replied, adding, “but I don’t recall specifically that I did. I might have.”
“I believe that there are a lot of conflicting studies too, that there are those that say, yes, there is an impact, and there are those that say there’s not. I still think that’s up in the air,” Fauci would later admit.
Last month, bombshell messages revealed Fauci’s right-hand man, Dr. David Morens, boasted about
deleting emails to hide the COVID lab leak theory.
The revelations were made as part of the ongoing congressional investigation into the hypothesis that the virus originated in a lab in China.
As Resist The Mainstream reported: Morens detailed methods for erasing digital trails as he corresponded with Peter Daszak, whose organization EcoHealth Alliance recently faced federal funding suspension over its involvement in contentious coronavirus research conducted at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
“We are all smart enough to know to never have smoking guns. And if we did we wouldn’t put them in emails. And if we found them, we would delete them,” he said in one shocking message.
Principal deputy director of the National Institutes of Health Lawrence Tabak was also in hot water after acknowledging to Congress that American taxpayers financed gain-of-function research at the beginning of the pandemic.
“Dr. Tabak, did NIH fund gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology through EcoHealth Alliance?” Arizona Rep. Debbie Lesko asked.
“It depends on your definition of gain-of-function research. If you’re speaking about the generic term, yes, we did,” Tabak responded.
