Minnesota Governor Tim Walz gave an extremely bizarre response to a question on gun violence during the vice presidential debate on Tuesday.
“I’ve become friends with school shooters, I’ve seen it,” Walz said in front on the entire nation.
The bizarre response instantly went viral across social media.
“Second time he has said, ‘I’ve been friends with school shooters.’ What does he mean by this? Is he insane?” former President Donald Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.
“Walz made a very big mistake on Gun Shooters.”

“Does anyone think he knows what he said? Will he have a News Conference after the Debate to apologize to the parents and others who were so horribly hurt?” Trump added.

Trump hilariously posted a meme of a Trump-Vance 2024 campaign sign complete with the phrase, “NOT FRIENDS WITH SCHOOL SHOOTERS.”
Conservative commentator and activist Gavin Wax weighed in, “Tim Walz is winning the school shooter vote for sure!”
Others chimed in: “I thought my friends were a little rough around the edges, but Tim Walz just said he’s friends with school shooters,” Jesse Kelly wrote.
Walz pointed to Finland as an example
“They don’t have this happen,” the Minnesota governor said.
“Even though they have a high gun-ownership rate in the country, there are reasonable things that we can do to make a difference.”
Walz then suggested that confiscation is necessary but didn’t specify what weapons would be banned.
