“Time” Magazine has proven it is nothing more than a propaganda rag after it featured a glowing profile of Vice-President Kamala Harris just weeks after declining to place Donald Trump on the cover following his assassination attempt.
The cover features a ‘Korea level’ portrait of Harris reminiscent of the Obama campaign’s famous “Hope and Change” posters from 2008
The front page, titled “The Re-Introduction of Kamala Harris,” has a caption reading “Her Moment.”
Yes, really.
The magazine published the cover despite Harris declining to interview with the outlet.
Harris has gone 22 days without sitting for a formal interview with the media.
“Harris has yet to do a single substantive interview or to explain her policy shifts. (Her campaign denied a request for an interview for this story),” the outlet wrote in a brief note.
As expected, the piece is an unbearable fawning endorsement of Harris, quoting several high-profile Democrats who give glowing endorsements of the Vice president.
“To consolidate the Democratic Party in a matter of hours, to do as many visible events and establish that presence without putting a foot wrong, is a feat,” said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
“I don’t think anybody expected her to be so flawless,” he added.
However, the cover did not go down well on X, with many users comparing the story to state-run media.
“The way the US corporate media transformed Kamala Harris from a national embarrassment to a transformative pioneer overnight — without even pretending to care about anything that she thinks or believes — is a powerful testament to how potent the science of propaganda is,” wrote veteran journalist Glenn Greenwald.
“The corporate media’s mission, as they see it, is to help Kamala win, not denounce her for refusing to sit down in interviews and explain what she thinks about anything or why,” he continued.
“Even though she told TIME to f off, they still published a hagiography of her.”
Economic news account “Geiger Capital” said the cover was akin to “North Korea-level worshipping.”
“The way the US corporate media has tried to transform Kamala Harris from a consensus joke to a historic leader in a matter of weeks, without even pretending to care about her policies or ideas, shows how blatant US propaganda has become,” they wrote.
